PROGRAM GUIDELINES

  1. When the student arrives, all personal belongings will be checked in by a staff member as well as checked out when leaving the program.

  2. Each student is expected to shower, shave and wear clean clothing daily.

  3. Proper clothing must be worn at all times when at the ministry. Shirts and shoes must be worn in all common areas and outside.  No clothing depicting drugs/alcohol paraphernalia may be worn. 

  4. Students are not permitted to smoke or use any type of tobacco products on or off campus.

  5. Do not remove food, utensils, or any kitchen products from the dining area.

  6. You may purchase your own snacks and soda and store them in appropriate areas in your rooms.  Do not store uncovered or unsealed food items in bedrooms.  Use a baggie or a clip for chips and cookies which may be obtained from the kitchen staff.

  7. Medications, of any kind may only be used if approved by the program director.  All medication is to be turned in to the staff and will be distributed as necessary. (Aspirin, cold medication, nose spray, herbal remedies, etc.)

  8. Turn off all lights and fans  when not in your rooms. It is your duty to conserve energy and be good stewards of what God has provided.

  9. Do not play CD's or tape players loudly. If music can be heard outside your room, it is too loud.  No radios are allowed.

  10. Beds must be made and rooms straightened every day before Quiet Time.    

  11. TV is permitted on weekends after 5:00p.m, Friday.  See TV policy.

  12. No secular music or secular literature is allowed in the ministry at any time.  No personal radios or CD players are allowed.  A library is provided to check out books for further reading.

  13. No guests are allowed in the bedrooms at any time.

  14. Do not leave the ministry grounds without permission.

  15. No construction or rearrangement of the rooms without proper authorization is allowed.  Please do not put pictures and cards using thumbtacks on the walls.  A bulletin board is provided for everyone in each room.

  16. Weekly and weekend schedules will be followed without exception.  Failure to do so will result in loss of privileges. 

  17. Do not ask for special privileges. Learning to cope with adverse conditions and being sensitive to the needs of others are necessary attributes in overcoming addiction.

  18. Recovery and romance do not mix. First work on you then on your relationship with others.                             

  19. Insubordination and/or disrespect toward staff will not be tolerated at any time or for any reason.

  20. All money will be kept in the office  There is a banking system.  You will have access to your money as needed.

  21. You are expected to be on time for all scheduled activities.

  22. All students should take care of all bathroom needs before class.

  23. Please bring your Bible and Notebook to all meetings.

  24. MAIL - Students are not permitted to correspond with individuals or girlfriends who have proven to be a negative influence or were connected to past problems.  Letters are to be placed in the mailbox in the Day room.   Mail will be picked up and distributed by a staff member only. 

  25. Genesis is not a laid-back, glorified drop-off center.  It is a type of "Spiritual Boot Camp" for men who want to be free from life-controlling bad habits, attitudes and negative coping skills.  IT WILL NOT BE EASY! It will probably be one of the hardest things you will ever do and will also be the most rewarding.

  26. You may be subject to dismissal for the following:  Using drugs, alcohol, tobacco products or for bringing them in or having them is your possession.  Leaving the property without permission.  Being continually un-cooperative or constant complaining.  Violence or threats of violence to self or peers.  Too many poor grams.

Violation of these rules will carry consequences and may result in loss of privileges or termination from

the Genesis Ministries Regeneration Program.
